2009 Queen Mother Champion Chase Result

The 2009 Queen Mother Champion Chase was won as expected by Master Minded, who went off as one of the hottest favourites ever at the Cheltenham Festival. Unfortunately many of his expected rivals decided to run elsewhere at the Festival and so the field was not at its normal strength. That said it was an absorbing race which the favourite won by 5 lengths and was never troubled at any stage.

Well Chief, making his return to the race track after 700 days absence proved that he has not lost any of his class and came home second, with the Nicky Henderson trained, Petit Robin a game third.

Irish raider, Big Zeb who went off second in the betting was thought to be one who was able to give Master Minded a race but his challenge never materialised and he ended up falling four out.
